Dover , DE – On May 9 th , the Delaware Academy of Medicine was given the 2008 LIBRARY OF THE YEAR award for its outstanding support of and achievement in delivering medical library services to staff and patrons of Delaware 's medical and public libraries. The Award was presented by the Chair - Program Committee of Delaware Library Association at its 2008 conference. The Academy funds and continues to provide consumer health information services at all public libraries, clinical information services to community hospitals and the Division of Public Health via DelMIRA ( Delaware Medical Information Resource Alliance) – www.delmira.org and maintains and operates the GoLocal Database, a searchable electronic resource of local health agencies and support groups at www.medlineplus.gov .
