Library cards
Your membership package entitles you to an unlimited amount of Delaware Academy of Medicine membership cards. The library cards should be distributed to all members of your organization that will be responsible for ordering articles and library materials. Except in the case of a Gold membership package, all library material requests must be placed online at www.delamed.org or result in a data entry fee. If a library card holder leaves your organization it is your responsibility to notify the Delaware Academy of Medicine immediately.

Use of onsite library materials
The Delaware Academy of Medicine has a vast array of journal resources and library materials at your disposal. Any membership level obtains access to these resources. Our complete journal listing is available at www.tdnet.com/dam , and our library materials are available at www.lib.de.us .

Cataloging – Service Definition
The Academy provides a copy cataloging service to libraries who are OCLC members either directly or through a library consortium. It is the requesting library’s responsibility to assure proper settings and profiles are up-to-date in OCLC. The service is the labor involved with accessing the library’s holdings through a cataloging interface and adding an item record with modification and/or deleting an item record to the collection, using OCLC’s world catalog. Original cataloging is excluded from this service.

Cataloging – Service Commitment
Upon Academy receipt of complete item information for each record, the service commitment is 10 – 15 business days for processing and client notification that the work has been completed.

Cataloging – Customer Requirements
Order processing requirement is forty-five (45) items for either ADD records or DELETE records. Multiple request may be processed at one time, but the items must be in groups of 45 items each and must be labeled as either ADD or DELETE. A single group of 45 items cannot be intermixed with ADD and DELETE records. Intermixed records groups will be returned to the customer, unprocessed.
If customer desires item information to be returned, customer agrees to pay for shipment via USPS, or equivalent service.

Materials Lending – Policy
Materials may be borrowed from the Flinn Library for two weeks unless otherwise specified. Certain items may be renewed for two additional two week periods.
Materials from offsite libraries are for four weeks unless otherwise specified by the original lending library. Renewals of offsite materials are at the discretion of the original lending library.
Overdue materials are fined at the rate of $1 per day for the first five business days; a two business day grace period is given before fines are assessed. After the first five business days fines are assessed at a rate of $5 per week or part thereof through the fourth week overdue.
After four weeks the Flinn Library reserves the right to cancel borrowing privileges until outstanding loans and fines are settled.
Materials outstanding after eight weeks will be presumed lost. Lost materials or items returned damaged will incur the cost of replacement and a processing fee plus any applicable fines.
