Consumers will find information about diseases, medications and other important health information. Fisher Center for Alzheimer's The Fisher Center is the research arm of Rockefeller University. This site presents the latest information in Alzheimer's Disease research. Mayo Foundation for Medical Education & Research The Mayo Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Rochester, Mn. The site provides accurate and timely information for consumers and professionals. National Institute on Aging The National Institutes of Health developed this website. The mission of the NIA site is to provide medical information to improve the health of older Americans. The American Geriatrics Society The AGS is an organization for health care professionals however the site provides links to consumer health information. Alzheimer's Disease Education & Referral Center This site is a service of the National Institute of Aging. Extensive information is given about Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia BOOKS Mayo Clinic on Alzheimer's Disease This book is an introduction to the causes, symptoms, and the latest research developments. Alzheimer's Disease: FAQ This book focuses on the progression of Alzheimer's Disease. Appendix B provides other resources available to caregivers. Alzheimer's Disease: A Guide for Families Videos Just for the Summer An Alzheimer's Story The documentary follows a family of an Alzheimer's patient for two years. This is an excellent video for caregivers. |
